1. Dudley George Tripp (1912 – 1997)

Dudley George Tripp was an Australian rules football player who was born in Moorooduc, a town located on the Mornington Peninsula. He played for the St Kilda Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1930s and 1940s. Tripp was known for his relentless aggression and exceptional tackling skills, earning him a place in St Kilda's Team of the Century.

2. Nellie Melba (1861 – 1931)

Nellie Melba, born Helen Porter Mitchell in Richmond, Melbourne, was an internationally renowned soprano opera singer. Although not from the exact region of Mornington Peninsula, Melba owned a house and spent much of her time in the area. She had a highly successful career, performing on stages across the globe, and she became one of the most famous singers of the late Victorian era.

3. Charles La Trobe (1801 – 1875)

Charles La Trobe was the first Lieutenant-Governor of the colony of Victoria, which includes the Mornington Peninsula. During his term from 1851 to 1854, La Trobe played a vital role in shaping the early governance of Victoria. He was known for his efforts in developing infrastructure, establishing schools, and promoting the arts.

4. Murray Rose (1939 – 2012)

Murray Rose, born Iain Murray Rose in Birmingham, England, relocated to Australia as a young child and settled in Rosebud, a town on the Mornington Peninsula. He went on to become a highly successful Australian swimmer, winning six Olympic medals, including four golds. Throughout his career, Rose broke multiple world records and was regarded as one of the greatest swimmers of his time.

5. Ben Mendelsohn (1969 – )

Ben Mendelsohn, born in Melbourne, is an acclaimed Australian actor who grew up in the town of Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula. He has appeared in numerous films and television series, both in Australia and internationally. Mendelsohn gained significant recognition for his roles in movies such as "Animal Kingdom," "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," and the Netflix series "Bloodline."

6. Lisa Mitchell (1990 – )

Lisa Mitchell, born in Canterbury, New South Wales, spent her early childhood in the coastal town of Mount Martha on the Mornington Peninsula. She is an Australian singer-songwriter who gained fame after participating in the television show "Australian Idol." Mitchell released several successful albums and received critical acclaim for her folk-pop style.

7. Andrew Bogut (1984 – )

Andrew Bogut, born in Melbourne, is a former professional basketball player. Although not specifically from the Mornington Peninsula, Bogut became associated with the region after purchasing a coastal property in Blairgowrie. He had a successful career playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the United States, winning an NBA Championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2015.

8. Kate Ceberano (1966 – )

Kate Ceberano, born in Melbourne, is a renowned Australian singer-songwriter who has achieved great success in the music industry. While not originally from the Mornington Peninsula, Ceberano owned a house in Mount Eliza and has strong connections to the area. She has released numerous albums and received multiple accolades throughout her career.
